WPI Employee Elected to NPPC Vice President
We are proud to announce that Todd Marotz, Chief Production Officer at Wakefield Pork, has been elected to serve as the 2026-2027 Vice President of the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC). This prestigious leadership role reflects his deep dedication to the pork industry, his proven leadership, and his ongoing commitment to advancing agriculture.
The NPPC serves as the global voice for the US pork industry, advocating for reasonable public policy and representing the interests of pork producers across the country. Through its work, the organization plays a critical role in shaping the future of the industry by addressing key issues such as trade, animal health, sustainability, and producer profitability.
In his role as Vice President, Todd will help guide the organization’s strategic direction and advocacy efforts, working alongside fellow industry leaders to advance policies that support long-term growth and sustainability. Currently, Todd represents producers on several national committees, including the NPPC By-laws and Resolutions Committee, and serves as Chairman of the Budget Committee, both of which highlight his strong leadership and industry expertise.
Todd brings extensive experience to this role through his work at Wakefield Pork, where he specializes in genetics, construction management, animal welfare and productivity, and environmental services and permitting. His commitment to excellence and continuous improvement has made a meaningful impact within the organization and the pork production community.
Beyond his national involvement, Todd has demonstrated strong leadership at the state and local levels. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Pork Producers Association and is actively involved in initiatives that support producers and strengthen the industry. Locally, he contributes his time and expertise through involvement with the Public Utilities Commission, the U.S. Swine Health Improvement Plan (SHIP), and the American Farm Bureau Federation, as well as by hosting farm tours to promote transparency and education in agriculture.
Todd’s passion for the industry is rooted in his upbringing on a family farm in northeast Nebraska. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science before beginning his career in the swine industry.
Today, Todd and his wife, Jodie, reside in Sleepy Eye, where they remain closely connected to the agricultural community.
Todd’s election to this position is not only a personal achievement, but also a reflection of the strength and leadership within our organization. We are proud to see one of our own representing the industry at such a high level and contributing to important conversations that will shape its future.
We are excited to see the impact Todd will make in this role and look forward to supporting him as he takes on this new responsibility. Congratulations, Todd, on this well-deserved achievement.
